We bring Unitarian Universalist congregations from all over Virginia together to advocate for legislation that represents our principles and values.

Our STORY

In 2013, a group of Virginian Unitarian Universalists met after hearing a presentation on the importance of UUs advocating for legislation that fits with our values. After their discussion, the Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of Virginia was founded, becoming the 18th state to create a legislative advocacy network that brings together legislative advocacy and Unitarian Universalist values. Since 2013, we have worked with other advocacy organizations throughout Virginia to help advocate for legislation that promotes social justice.

For UUs, the natural voice of religious leaders combined with our own Principles requires us to be an active voice in the public arena.
